Along the way, enjoy an enriching alpine experience while hiking hut to hut on all or part of the Alta Via 1.  You'll appreciate these cozy and communal rifugios as you savor hearty mountain fare and bask in the alpenglow the locals call 'enrosadira'.

Since 2007, Macs Adventure has been dedicated to helping independent hikers discover the best of this mountainous region and world class trail. With no group or guide to defer to, you can hike the Alta Via at your own pace and on your own terms on one of our expertly crafted itineraries, all intentionally avoiding via ferrata. As luggage transfers are difficult (and expensive) for this route, you may opt to hike with your full pack, so this hike is best for experienced sure-footed hikers with a head for heights. With our team's expertise and our handy Macs navigation app you can confidently set out on an unforgettable Italian hiking vacation along the Alta Via 1.

Are you under the spell of the Dolomites but would rather not hike with a full pack and prefer a private room?  Our other Dolomite hiking tours might be for you!
