A Message from Neil, Founder & CEO Of Macs Adventure
From Neil, Founder & CEO Of Macs Adventure
March 5th 2020
I am writing to you as a valued member of the Macs Adventure community, who shares our passion for active and adventurous travel, and understands the difference it makes to the lives of so many people.
The spread of Coronavirus has captured news headlines worldwide and we know that it is very concerning for our community. We understand and share your concerns, especially as the situation is fluid and the news and advice changes constantly.
The travel industry has been disproportionately impacted by recent events. The team at Macs Adventure and our suppliers (most of whom are small family-run businesses) are doing everything we can to make sure that we can continue to serve you, our community, and our purpose:
I hope that we can rely on your support and confidence over the coming weeks and months as we face this challenge together.
Our priority is, and will always be, to ensure the safety and well being of our customers and staff. We are here to offer as much help and advice as we can to ensure that your planned or potential adventure can run smoothly and safely.
Our approach to managing this outbreak, which is explained in detail on our website, has been informed by over 20 years’ experience in the travel industry, is to:
- Closely monitor and follow government and official advice from organizations such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the WHO and other organisations and take appropriate action.
- Communicate with and support our travellers who are concerned or whose plans are directly affected.
- Support our team and suppliers in managing the situation.
I know that you will be particularly concerned about how this will affect you if you have a trip booked with us or are planning to book a trip with us. Please be assured that, as per official advice, the vast majority of trips and destinations we offer are safe to visit and we will do everything we can to ensure that you have a wonderful trip.
Where destinations have official travel advisories against travel we are proactively working with customers who are booked to travel with us imminently. If you are booked to travel to these destinations in future, I would urge you to wait until closer to the departure date before making any decisions on whether to delay, change or cancel your trip as the situation is changing daily.
If you are concerned about your travel plans you will find updates, information and our policies for delaying, changing or cancelling your trip on our website.
It is a privilege to serve you and play a small part in making the world a better place.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours in adventure,
Neil and the Team @ Macs Adventure
