At Macs Head Office in Glasgow, we are all extremely passionate about Scotland and have been crafting itineraries for customers since 2003. We offer a great range of self-guided walking holidays perfect for walkers aged over 50. These routes run along some of the country’s classic trails but are thoughtfully adapted for a gentler, more enjoyable pace allowing you plenty of time to appreciate the dramatic landscapes along the way. After your day’s adventure, unwind in carefully selected accommodations designed for your comfort and sample the best of Scottish hospitality.Â
Scotland's premier national trail, the iconic West Highland Way is available as a leisurely 10-day, 11-night itinerary. Another Macs favourite is the ever popular Great Glen Way running coast to coast across the Scottish Highlands. If coastal charm calls you, our Fife Coastal Path features slightly longer walking days, but the terrain is gentle, making it equally rewarding.
For those craving a bit more relaxation as well as extra time to visit cultural heritage sites such as Skara Brae on the far flung island of Orkney, check out our Slower Adventures tour range. We also offer a range of Rail & Hike adventures which combine journeys on Scotland's world-class railways with our favourite walks in the Highlands.
Scotland's most famous long-distance trail, the West Highland Way, travels its way north through verdant lowlands, along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, and on to moors and highlands steeped in turbulent clan history. The West Highland Way is the first trip Macs Adventure operated back in 2003 and remains one of our favourite and top-selling trips today.
