Why Use Water Filtration and a Reusable Water Bottle?

Having access to clean drinking water is one of the most important things when traveling. Consuming contaminated water can cause a range of illnesses, from digestive issues like diarrhoea to more serious diseases. This is why many travelers opt to drink bottled water when visiting foreign countries, avoiding tap water entirely. And when out and about in rural areas where water’s less accessible, it’s tricky to trust the natural water sources and isn’t always worth the risk.

The bottle's built-in filter removes up to 99.9999% of contaminants from tap and natural water sources allowing travelers to enjoy safe, clean drinking water without having to purchase bottled water.
The 3-in-1 filter system removes bacteria, chemicals, heavy metals like lead and copper and microplastics down to 0.1 microns (that’s microscopically small!). The water is filtered through a combination of activated carbon, ion exchange resin, and a micro membrane, providing water that meets EPA standards for drinking.

Using Water-to-Go when traveling

Activate the filter before use. We recommend doing this before you leave for your adventure.
Some bottles have a time strip. This is a visual reminder which lets you know how much life is left in your filter. This will also need activating before use.
Here are some easy-to-follow instructions on how to do both of these things.

How to clean your reusable Water–to-Go bottle

Clean the bottle with hot, soapy water after each use. This will help prevent mold and bacteria growth.
Clean the activated carbon filter periodically by swirling the bottle with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Don’t put the filter in the dishwasher or use abrasive brushes that can damage the filter membrane.

Replacing the Filter

The filter should be replaced every 2 months or 150 liters to ensure optimal filtration.
Replacement filters can be purchased directly from the Water-to-Go website and shipped internationally.
Be sure to replace the filter before each trip to maximize filtration on the go. An old filter will be less effective at removing impurities.
