  • Discover the Highlands with a Scotland-based operator
  • Make your way from the shores of glimmering Loch Lomond to misty Rannoch Moor

  • Enjoy hassle-free navigation with our Macs Adventure app, daily luggage transfers and hand-picked lodgings

Lace up your hiking boots and discover the dramatic landscape of the Scottish Highlands on Scotland’s finest long-distance trail. Starting from Milngavie just outside Glasgow, walk 96 miles in just 7 hiking days of 9 - 19 miles, to Fort William, nestled in the heart of the highlands. Along the way, hike along the shores of Scotland's largest loch, admire the rugged mountain scenery, and cross the awe-inspiring expanse of Rannoch Moor. Spend your evenings in cozy pubs, with perhaps a dram of local whisky, catching up with tales from your fellow West Highland Way adventurers. The top of Devil’s Staircase marks the highest point of the hike, and before long, you’ll arrive at Fort William, Scotland’s 'Outdoor Capital'.

Macs was founded in 2003 just a few miles from the start of the trail, and with headquarters in Glasgow every year members of our team hike the WHW, conduct volunteer trail maintenance and visit our valued accommodation and luggage partners. We use our in-depth knowledge, extensive experience and local connections to offer you the best of this iconic route.
