Hike the West Highland Way, Scotland's premier long-distance trail on our most popular itinerary. This iconic route spans 96 miles, guiding you through diverse and stunning landscapes. Begin your adventure just outside Glasgow in Milngavie and follow the trail as it winds its way North to Fort William, the outdoor capital of the UK. Along the way, take in breathtaking vistas of Loch Lomond from Conic Hill, and conquer the thrilling Devil’s Staircase before reaching the mighty Ben Nevis. Each evening, relax in hand-picked cozy B&Bs and savor hearty Scottish cuisine in local pubs. This trail not only offers magnificent landscapes but also the warmth and camaraderie of like-minded adventurers.

Macs was founded in 2003 just a few miles from the start of the trail, and with headquarters in Glasgow every year members of our team hike the WHW, conduct volunteer trail maintenance and visit our valued accommodation and luggage partners. We use our in-depth knowledge, extensive experience and local connections to offer you the best of this iconic route.
