Eastern promise Walk the famous pilgrimage route of Japan's Kumano Kodo. The 11^th century trail traces a fabulous route through rural Japan and visits the three shrines of Kumano.  

Top of the trails The 96-mile West Highland Way is always popular and not just a bucket list must-do for Scottish walkers but fabulous long-distance walk for people from around the world. When will you go?

The best way This is a pilgrimage route that is hard to beat, which is why so many people want to walk “the Camino" route. If you don’t have time for the full 800km European trail, walk sections of a week or two weeks at a time.  

Right royal Perhaps you saw this route in Julia Bradbury’s BBC series, German Wanderlust. King Ludwig's Way is one of Germany’s best-known footpaths through the beautiful Upper Bavaria to King Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein Castle. 

Icing on the cake In Iceland you quickly run out of superlatives. Its landscape is breath-takingly amazingly wonderful. Just book and see for yourself. Iceland should be on every traveller’s bucket list.
