To give you a little insight into a Monday morning at Macs HQ...first of all we all drink a lot of coffee, then, suitably fuelled, the team gathers to catch up, review progress, and share information and insights, at which point we also review our adventurer's feedback from the previous week. You can read our customer reviews from any tour page. These reviews give us invaluable practical notes to develop and improve our tours, and often give us a laugh as you share your experience, or sometimes a tear as you describe how life-changing some of your adventures have been! We find your words really inspiring. Here's some of our highlights in brief from the last week... An Emotional Camino Experience
"I really liked the way the accommodations gave me a little insight into Spanish culture. The Spanish people were “kindness personified” in the way they looked after their visitors and couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. I really cannot fault anything about this experience. I came to the Camino with “special needs” having suffered a cerebral aneurysm and a stroke 18 months ago, I was given sensible advice by company operators, I felt extremely safe and supported throughout. All stages were well planned and achievable. It was an emotional moment to reach Santiago!"
Christine, NZ Sicily: Etna & the Aeolian Islands "AndrewB&B" Gave Walking in Sicily four stars, describing it as mind-expanding, and offering some really helpful feedback on travel and the itinerary which the team are working on. Great photos Andrew...
Cotswold Way Walking Advice
"Walker Janet" from Oregon offered a bit of practical advice on walking the Cotswold Way "This is a lovely walk. We are in out late 60's and early 70's and thought it would be relatively easy but we had not realize there was so much up and down. Knowing what we know now I would not do it in 8 days but I would take longer."
Macs Adventure do offer itineraries which include up to 10 days of walking, so if you are worried at all about the daily distances, you can chat to our specialists about the perfect itinerary, or even about adding a rest day to allow you more time to relax and explore.
Make the Most of Your Trip - Take 2 Breaks!
David & Ria from Sydney made the most of their time in Scotland, combining the West Highland Way with a Long Walk on the Isle of Skye.
"We did the West Highland Way first, rest day in Fort William, then followed on with the walk across Skye. The WHW was a great walk but Skye was the highlight with wilder, more spectacular, and more isolated country." (Oh, and some really kind words from David & Ria!): "Macs' organisation was faultless, as was our experience with them with 2 previous walks. All taxis and transport turned up on time. We give them the highest possible recommendation."
Thanks again for the invaluable feedback one and all.
