What are you looking for in a walking or cycling holiday in 2015? A new Travel Trends report has revealed a host of exciting predictions for 2015. And above all, the ABTA survey find that more people are now keen to splash out a bit more on great value trips.
Six key trend for holidays in 2015
Confidence building: Consumer confidence in spending on good quality holidays is on the up again and more people are predicted to dip into their earnings and savings this year to splash out on a great holiday. Value for money: While people are increasingly willing to spend on holidays they still want great value for money. Value for money includes quality experiences while on a holiday, multi-centre tours and also challenge and active holidays. Trying somewhere new: More than a third of people (35%) are planning to explore new destinations in 2015, especially to a country they have never visited before. Going native: Many more people are keen to experience new places as though they were a local. This applies across all age groups. What it seems to mean is that travellers would like to see the hidden gems alongside the traditional tourist attractions. Destination celebrations: More people say they will be enjoying a trip as part of a group and as a celebration for a birthday, anniversary, stag or hen trip or an overseas wedding. Exciting times! Break aways: In 2014, city breaks became more popular than beach holidays and this trend is expected to continue in 2015. The stats show that 43% of people are planning a city break while 42% are planning a beach holiday.
